A Little Nursery "Pinspiration" is Always Good For The Soul!

One of my favorite things to do during this pregnancy has been creating various Pinterest boards for my baby girl! I have had so much fun envisioning her Nursery which will be her own space to eventually play, have quiet time, imagine and create things. My vision encompasses soft, subtle colors (grey, pearl, ivory and light pink) along with some dainty touches to tie everything in together. I have to laugh because my mom always jokes with me. She had mentioned that maybe I would want to incorporate some purples or other fun girly colors. I told her I want the baby to have a mature space. She just laughs and says, "Danielle, your giving birth to a baby not a thirty year old!" Lol! Love my mom. I know she is right but I definitely have specific ideas for her room.

So far my husband has painted the nursery and I chose a beautiful Benjamin Moore color called, "Storm." After painting the room it makes me want to take a paint brush to every room in our apartment! IF ONLY! This color was the first color I saw when doing research via Pinterest and I immediately fell in love. I have also ordered a wall decal with her initials that is monogrammed and in a beautiful gold script. Her furniture gets delivered this tuesday (WOO HOOOOO!!!) and slowly every little detail will come together.

Here are some pictures and samples of the Nursery and what will be going into her room this week! :)

Color: "Storm" made by Benjamin Moore. I would love to see this color in our future house!
Crib: Franklin & Ben

Dresser: Franklin & Ben
Canopy: The Butterfly Canopy from The Land of Nod

These are actually picture shelfs from Ikea. I am taking the idea from this photo and will be hanging them on the walls in order to create an organized book shelf where it will be easy to circulate her books.
The Nursery furniture from Franklin & Ben was ordered from Nessalee Baby in Manalapan, NJ. They have another location in Livingston, NJ too! I really enjoyed working with them to pick out just the right furniture for her space. Their website makes it really easy to go on and see what exactly you are looking for and their prices vary from affordable to expensive. You really do have enough wiggle room to fulfill your dreams. The two pieces we ordered is considered, "forever furniture." The crib turns into a toddler bed and the dresser is big enough to carry her through some good adolescent years. We also ordered a removable changing area for the top of the dresser as another way to save on space. Check out their website at Nessalee Baby for all the latest and greatest in baby gear!

There are just a couple of more things I really want to add to my baby girl's Nursery. I have been doing some research on gliders but I definitely want something affordable and modern. If anyone has any suggestions on sites where I can find some good ones please comment below to let me know! All suggestions and links are appreciated! Everyone's help is definitely making this transition into motherhood so much more easier for me. As the bookshelf's go up and the decal gets added to the wall I will be sure to post pictures of the final outcome. I am so, so excited!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

XOXO,
Danielle

My Sweet Girl :)

Does anyone remember that blog post from August where I said, "My life is finally calming down?" HA! Apparently my life was truly just beginning and I will let my pictures speak for themselves...

I got engaged and married! (Married 12/20/2014)

Announced our beautiful surprise <3

IT'S A BABY GIRL!! Due 6/21/15.

I began to grow! This picture was around 20 weeks! :)

Fast forward to NOW! 30 weeks pregnant! I am almost there!!
It has been a whirlwind seven months and I just can't believe that I am going to be a Mommy! As I am writing this post my sweet baby is doing back flips in my belly. It is such a funny yet comforting feeling. I have had so many different feelings and mixed emotions about this journey my husband and I are about to embark on. When I found out I was pregnant I was in a state of utter shock. I finally was with the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and do everything "by the book" so to speak and BAM! Bombshell isn't even the term to describe it. I know there is no such thing as a timeline or even as a rule book but I just couldn't believe what was happening to me and, to us. Change was on the horizon for sure. Two new puppies and a baby on the way!? Both of our families were nothing but supportive and beyond thrilled for us! They supported us every step of the way. Let me tell you, it is such a beautiful thing when everyone who is important to you is on board with all of your decisions. Not only as individuals but as a couple as well. The beginning of my pregnancy was extremely hard on me. Everyone has questions for you and will give you their opinion whether you want it or not. You learn who your true friends are and who you just need to take a step back from. Sometimes there was just too much negativity for me to handle. I know other people's opinions and words should not matter. However, when it comes from people that you have invested a lot of yourself in and have seen those individuals through all of their happy moments you automatically expect the same in return. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way. There was never any doubt in our minds as a couple the road we wanted to travel. Mommy and Daddy have become our new titles and we are nothing but excited (and nervous) for the road that lies ahead of us. There is no sugar coating these past seven months but when looking back on all of our events both my husband and I feel just as lucky and as blessed as we felt since day one. I must have done something so right in life to end up with an amazing man like him. I thank God every day for the path he has chosen for me. Without God nothing is possible. I am so thankful for this healthy glowing life inside of me.

I have missed blogging so, SO much! Keri and I used to be able to write a new blog post every day of the week. Impending Mommy life has given me a swift kick in the butt! Although Keri and I won't be posting every single day I can't wait to put up weekly or weekend updates on here for everyone to see! Keri has so many beautiful things going on in her life as well! But I will let her catch you up on that in her own time! For everyone who has been following our blog since the beginning you were able to see just the Nanny in me. Now I can't wait to introduce the Mommy in me. I want to incorporate baby updates, more favorite baby and toddler gadgets, nursery updates (as I am currently designing our daughter's room) and of course once I give birth we can let the real fun begin!

I look forward to what the future has to hold! I have all of this excitement within me and can't wait for her special arrival! Thank you to everyone for your patience and to those who enjoy reading our blog as much as we enjoy writing it!

XOXO,
Danielle
